Chairman Speech

Dare to Dream, dare to fly, dare to be the ever chosen one to touch the sky !!!

Namaste and welcome to all the distinguished guests from the media, tourism industry and financial institutions,

I dreamt of having an international airline twelve years back. But dreaming was not enough as I had to pass through a lot of hurdles and difficulties. Firstly, in getting a license, getting traffic rights, getting financiers and the list goes on.

Today, with a valid license and Air Operating Certificate from the MOTCA and CAAN, we are well positioned to re-launch our dream. This dream of mine is to have an international airline from Nepal with comfort, service and reliability as our motto, concentrating on regional routes such as New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou, Mumbai and Doha. We want to position Alpine Air as a preferred Nepali carrier for servicing our Nepalese traffic and other nationalities as well.

In order to achieve this dream, we have leased an Airbus A319-100 with 132 seat configuration (12 business & 120 economy) from Bahrain Air. Passengers will be enjoying Nepalese hospitality and entertainment on a 36" seat pitch for business class and 32" seat pitch for economy. Alpine Air will be a full service carrier. Our reservation system will be web based. We will be using the Radixx System from the USA for bookings and will also be introducing online bookings through the web using credit and debit cards shortly.

As a home base carrier, we will be distributing our sale of products through Passenger Sales Agents (PSAs). Zenith Group is our first PSA and we are in the process of appointing a few more in the local market. For our distribution in India, we have appointed InterGlobe Enterprises Limited as our GSA in India. InterGlobe through its own distribution network and ownership of Indigo Airlines is well positioned to distribute and market our products in India.

Alpine Air will be spreading its wings slowly but surely. We will be starting with 7 flights a week to New Delhi, starting 3rd week of January, 2010.Thereafter, Alpine will fly to Kuala Lumpur in April 2010, followed by Guangzhou, Mumbai and finally Doha. Alpine Air will have a fleet of two aircrafts A319/A320 and will position itself to be a regional carrier from Nepal. We believe our endeavor in the international operation will support in achieving the goal of the Tourism Year 2011.

All this dream of mine would not have been possible without GOD's blessings, my Guru's prayers and the support from my family and their belief in my work. I would also like to thank Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CAAN (Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal), Government of India and its agencies (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and DGCA India), including the Embassy of India in Kathmandu and those who have helped me in achieving this dream. Lastly, I seek the support from the media, tourism entrepreneurs, NTB and related agencies for the success of this venture.

Thank you.
